A big visit and damp gardening

Victoria Primary’s P2 classes visited the park this morning (with teachers).  It’s the first step towards the Friends and the School working together to build a children’s nature trail beside the Laverockbank Road entrance.  Very exciting!

It was a pretty dull and damp morning but there’s still lots of colour in the park. We even found time for some gardening before the rain came at 11.30, trimming the lavender bushes, preparing a boat planter for replanting and lots of tidying.IMG_0887 1 IMG_0893 1 IMG_0897 IMG_0900IMG_0891  IMG_0902

Daffodils, geraniums and a splash of colour

After the huge efforts from the TCV team yesterday, this morning we finished planting the daffodils and geraniums down the bank.  It was hard going but an infusion of Australian youth helped dig lots of holes for bulbs and plants in rough ground.  Many thanks, Michael.  Park is looking good this autumn with lots of colour still.  Not to mention the odd tayberry, too.
