Graeme Murray has made a glorious aerial video of Starbank Park. It’s at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSmhBk6kZYo and is certainly worth a look. Graeme has posted videos of other local flights on You Tube at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC8qeoZZu0SiAiS5iC5uC52A. The video of sunset at Newhaven Harbour is terrific.
A glorious autumn morning in the park. We planted bulbs, organised the compost, weeded, pruned and enjoyed the weather. We even found a rather fat frog!
TCV (The Conservation Volunteers) brought a team to Starbank Park on Tuesday. They did a super job clearing the giant weeds beside the walls on the slope. They planted lots of daffodils and geraniums in the cleared areas. Many thanks to Tim Lewis and his team.
http://www.greenflagaward.org/park-summary/?ParkID=2533 is where you can vote for Starbank Park for the Green Flag People’s Choice Award. Please vote before 30 September.
There’s a feature on Starbank Park at http://www.mypark.scot/myparkexplore-starbank-park-edinburgh. Please have a look. Many thanks to MyParkScotland.
We had our stand at Trinity Community Gala on Sunday. It was a glorious day, there were lots of people there and we had a great time. We spoke to loads of people, sold a trays of plants, the local kids sowed loads of seeds in old paper cups and we even got a good number of new members. Many thanks to Christine and the Wardie Church team for their tremendous efforts organising such a wonderful event.
It rained this morning. First time for ages that it was too wet to garden for most of the morning. But the coffee and biscuits were very welcome.
Park is looking good. Janet’s large flower pot and the gladioli are stunning.
As always there’s plenty to do – please come along.
We tidied and weeded during a glorious morning but only as a preliminary to the day’s main event, Janet’s birthday party in the park. The star of the moment blew out her candles and we all got on with the serious business of gluttony. Not much left at the end…
Starbank Park is looking good. We have sunflowers and gladioli for the first time and the primulas have even started flowering again.
