Terrific morning, it was warm with wall to wall sunshine. We weeded and weeded and planted a few more ferns (thank you Bridget). The park is looking good, with the tulips and primulas, in particular, fantastic.

We have a new fernery!
With lots of effort and loads of ferns, we pretty well finished our Fernery yesterday. Not too much to see yet but we have high hopes for the summer. Many thanks to Keep Scotland Beautiful and Tesco for the Community Grant, all who helped and to Heather McHaffie, Kevock Garden and Bowdens who all donated ferns.

No wind, sunny and warm!
A glorious morning, with the Forth like a millpond, again!!
We’ve made more progress with the fernery; special thanks to David and Stella of Kevock Garden (http://www.kevockgarden.co.uk) for donating ferns and logs.
The garden is looking good, despite the weeds enjoying the weather. The primulas are amazing all over the park, the star and crescents are improving now we’ve blocked the gaps in the hedge and the daffodils on the bank at the east wall are pretty good too.

Rolling eggs at the park
It was a glorious Easter Sunday today and hundreds of families came along for the traditional Easter Egg rolling at Starbank Park, with picnics lasting well into the afternoon.

Big Turnout for Easter Egg Hunt
The rain stopped at 9.30 this morning and started again at 11.45 but, in between, we had a perfect morning for our Easter Egg Hunt. We had a wonderful turn-out with over 200 parents and children. We thought we had far too many Easter eggs and bunnies but almost all were claimed in an hour. Lots of cups of tea and coffee were served and the children planted loads of sunflower seeds in take-away pots. Many thanks to all our helpers and to Asda, Tesco and Waitrose (in alphabetical order) for donations. And a huge special thanks to Janet (with the pink ears) for organising the event so brilliantly.
Easter Egg Hunt, Good Friday morning, Starbank Park
We’re holding an Easter Egg Hunt at the Park on Friday, 3rd April Morning, 10.30-11.30. Ideal for 3 to 8 year olds. Lots of Easter eggs. Optional £3 donation.
