Last Gardening session of the year is on Wednesday, usual time. The forecast is awful, but you never know!
The grass and paths are now almost clear of leaves as we managed to squeeze in a bit of gardening before coffee. It was sunny and easily warm enough for coffees in the Park. 19 volunteers followed up with Christmas Lunch at the Old Chain Pier. Lunch was excellent: good food, excellent service, fine views and mercifully few photos.

TCV’s team came at short notice today and did a huge amount of work. They are a great team and good to be with. They cleared tons of leaves from the bottom half of the park and the grass will be able to breathe again!

The end of a hard day. The team collected at least 20 tonne bags of leaves

Hardly a leaf in sight!
Spotted in the fernery!
It was a fine morning, but the first real frost of the winter in Trinity.

We’d a great turn out for a winter’s day. We’ve now cleared almost all the leaves from the grass, the Christmas tree was looking good (before the gale!) and there is still a remarkable amount of colour, including fuchsias and a very confused lupin. Bad news was that squirrels have been gorging themselves on tulip bulbs planted in pots. We should have known! We’ve rescued quite a lot and we hope the gluttonous squirrels don’t learn to open the cold frame!

There’s a gardening session on Wednesday, usual time. There’s loads to do, and, for what it’s worth, the Met office says the weather will be pretty good. Please come along if you can.
