Busy morning in the park, weeding and tidying. Park looks good but autumn’s will soon be here!

Join the Friends of Starbank Park for Wednesday morning gardening, 10-11.30 on Wednesday. There’s always plenty to do and, at least as important, sociable tea, coffee and biscuits to finish.

Please come along to help at Starbank Park on Saturday morning, usual time, 10-11.30. There’s an excellent forecast (courtesy of the Met Office), plenty to do and even some tea and coffee to finish with.

We had a good turn out and the Friends did lots today at the park, finishing just before the rain came on! The highlight was clearly David’s giant dandelion root!

There’ll be a bit of friendly gardening, plenty chat and tea, coffee and biscuits at Starbank Park on Wednesday morning, usual time, 10-11.30. The Met Office says its to be fair on Wednesday morning, there’s plenty to do, so please come along and help.

Come along and join our continuing battle against the weeds! The forecast is fine and there may even be tea and coffee to finish!


We’ve installed a second library in the park, this time for adults. Both the children’s and adults’ libraries work the same way, borrow a book and bring one back, the same one or a replacement. All very informal!

Two fine days in a row, can’t be August. A busy morning for the volunteers and a lot done. The park flowers are looking great.
