Gardening on Wednesday is at the usual time, 10-11.30.  There’s lots to do and elevenses to finish with.  The Met Office forecasts light rain but they are often wrong these days!  Please come along if you can to help keep the park beautiful.

Joyce Kay and Jean Gilmour presenting Carola Graham’s lovely painting of Starbank Park to the Friends @StarbankPark on Wednesday

Joyce Kay and Jean Gilmour presented this lovely painting of Starbank Park by Carola Gordon to the Friends of Starbank Park on Wednesday. They had commissioned it as a thank you to Laverock House Nursing Home for caring for their Aunt, Beatrice Bain, who had loved Starbank Park. Sadly, the Home closed in September and the painting was given to the Friends as a thank you for restoring and maintaining the park.

Wednesday Gardening @StarbankPark, 13 November, 10-11.30

Gardening on Wednesday, usual time, 10-11.30.  Forecast is dry and cool but there’s plenty to do to keep us warm and elevenses to finish.  Please come and help us keep the park beautiful.

I was a bit surprised yesterday morning by the very active wasp in the second picture – it seemed far too cold for it to be about.
