A peculiar hyacinth and we’re using our own compost!

The first activity of the morning was to investigate a hyacinth bulb that was coming out of the ground, upside down.  We were slightly surprised to find well-formed leaves and a flower 25cm into the ground.  The leaves had clearly not been exposed to light.  Most odd!

While weeding was the main order of the day, we used our own compost, emptying a bin.  Most has gone into the sunken area near the Laverockbank Road gate.  It’s now almost level with the surrounding borders.
